Conserving water is in the news everywhere. It seems we either have too much water or not enough. While relying completely on natural rainfall for our irrigation is always welcome, it is not always reliable to get the correct amount of rain when we want it.
For the past four years, Global Water Works has been on the cutting edge of new technology in irrigation. We have developed a new system for watering lawns called "Earthmister" saving up to 90% of the fresh water being used by watering underneath the grass instead of on top.
The major advantage of a subterranean delivery system is the reduction of the evaporation factor.

Earthmister TM is made of ridged PVC. The unique design allows water to flow from the larger upper chamber to the smaller lower chamber. The lower chamber has injectors that deliver water directly to the roots promoting healthy growth of the plant and virtually no water runoff on the street or sidewalk.
A special coupling is made to allow water to flow from the extrusion through the coupling down to the lower chamber to the injectors. The coupling is placed at each end of the extrusion. The system is connected to the main water supply via adapters. All the adapters are interchangeable with standard 3/4 or 1 inch PVC fittings.
FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS
In the near future Raven Knight working with Mahaffey Innovative Technologies will be integrating a complete black/grey water recovery system with Earthmister Irrigation systems. We recommend that your customers purchase their tubes in purple to further integrate the systems with the upcoming technology that can be retrofitted into existing installs in the near future. This retrofitting will generate additional income for Raven Knight Dealers when the product becomes available in Fall 2009.
The black/grey water system will allow the homeowner to utilize all of its household water for use in the irrigation system thereby saving an estimated 300-400 gallons per day in water consumption. The system that is currently under development is in the testing process and we have been able to treat raw sewage water to drinking water standards thereby eliminating the potential for contamination.
The system is currently under development and will require certification prior to installation. Based on California's grey water legislation, the units can be installed when the completed product is ready for grey water only, which will require re-plumbing so as to comply with the legislation that does not allow for the use of toilet or kitchen sink water in irrigation systems. We are also working towards obtaining approval for complete water recovery systems and ultimately developing a unit that will generate power from the solid matter that is processed through the systems.
